I thought long and hard before adding a beef hamburger recipe. We have received so many requests from around the world for a good and easy hamburger recipe that it became almost impossible to ignore. And so we asked the question on all our popular social media platforms. What do you enjoy about a beef hamburger and what is it in your opinion that makes a beef hamburger good?

The responses were overwhelming and we decided to group the answers into categories. We ended up with so many suggestions and it soon became evident that the secret to a good hamburger lies in the patty and the ingredients used in the hamburger patty.

And so we set off to create the best beef hamburger recipe we could think of. We enlisted the services of an Internationally acclaimed chef with more than 20 years of experience catering to an international audience. Directions

  1. Preparing the Beef Patty Combine the onions and green pepper together and mix well
  2. Add the mince and mix well
  3. Add the coriander, chutney, crumbs, egg, the parsley and opal basil and mix well together
  4. Add the salt and grated black pepper
  5. weigh the patty seize you want- 150 g/200 g or 250 g and form a ball
  6. Press it down and take a large cup or ramekin to make a round circle
  7. TIP: At this step it is important to see that the patty is firm
  8. Sometimes it is not firm enough and then once you start to fry it, it will break
  9. If you see it is not firm enough, add more crumbs to the mixture
  10. This will prevent it from breaking while frying them
  11. Fry in a pan on low heat until cooked
  12. IF DOING WITHOUT THE MONKEY GLAND SAUCE: Add the Jimmy or Lappies sauce during frying or dip the patty in it afterwards
  13. Assembling: Butter the buns
  14. Add the lettuce and cover the bun
  15. Layer with a spoonful or 2 onion marmalade or balsamic onions
  16. Add the seasoned tomato slices
  17. Layer with the cheese
  18. Layer with the Patty
  19. Last add the monkey gland sauce
  20. IF Adding the tzatsiki sauce: Add the 2 slices of bacon and lastly add the tzatziki sauce on top
  21. Add the other half of the bun on top TO GARNISH: Add the skewer through the middle with the cherry tomato and cucumber stick on top
