Pavlova Recipe

We decided to reinvent this pavlova recipe after looking at the suggestions in the reviews. This recipe is already a winner and has been shared so many times on social media. We decided to stick with the original recipe, but only add suggestions for the fruit topping, namely strawberries and kiwi fruit.

Pavlova looks beautiful on a buffet table and we know it as a dessert that almost always gets served at weddings and special occasions. I always enjoy standing close to people when they eat from the buffet table and admit eavesdropping on their conversations. What I always hear about this pavlova recipe, is how good it is. Children also love pavlova.

We are happy you are here and we are sure you will enjoy this revised pavlova recipe. Please tell us what you think of this recipe. You can also take a snapshot and tag us on Instagram @cookingcatdotcom.

Thanks and happy pavlova baking.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 130°C (275°F)
  2. For the Meringe
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until soft, gradually add the sugar, and cornflour and beat until stiff and glossy. Add the vinegar and vanilla and beat until combined
  3. Spread the meringue on a prepared baking tin and bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. Turn the heat off and leave to stand in the oven for another 1 hour.
  4. For the Cream Layer
In a mixing bowl, beat the whipped cream, sugar, and vanilla until stiff. Spread evenly over the top of the meringue. Arrange the strawberries and kiwi fruits into the desired pattern over the top of the cream layer
  5. For the Glaze
In a small saucepan, over medium heat, combine the sugar, water, and cornflour. Increase the heat to a simmer and cook to thicken the glaze. Turn off the heat and allow it to cool. Brush the glaze over the top of the fruit layer to seal. Transfer to a refrigerator and chill, until it is time to serve the pavlova. Enjoy!
