Sweet and Sour Prawn Curry Recipe

I created this sweet and sour prawn curry recipe to match a prawn curry we ate during a visit to a famous seafood restaurant recently. It was listed as a new menu item and I had to try it. We decided to try it as a starter, but because it tasted so good, we changed our minds and also enjoyed the prawn curry as a main course.

It was hard to get the taste out of my mind and upon returning home, I made a note to try a homemade sweet and sour prawn curry. The next day I set to work and played around with a concept. The memory and taste of the previous day's prawn curry were still fresh in my mouth and mind and I knew what I had to do.

Half a day later, this sweet and sour prawn curry recipe was born. I invited a few friends and family members over and unknowingly they acted as my taste experience testers. The feedback was overwhelming and everyone asked for the recipe. I told them that I would share it on my social platforms as soon as it is ready and let them know. So here it is. Some of them even responded with comments and a good rating.

  1. In a frying pan over medium heat, melt the ghee, then sauté the garam masala until fragrant. Fry the garlic briefly then add the fish stock. Increase the heat to a simmer, then stir in the coconut milk and simmer for 3 minutes
  2. Add the shrimps, tomatoes, honey, vinegar, and salt and cayenne pepper to taste. Simmer for another 3 minutes, or until the prawns are cooked through
  3. Remove and serve with cooked rice and season with the chopped coriander. Enjoy.
