Amarula Dom Pedro Recipe

This quick and easy Amarula Dom Pedro recipe is another recipe from our proudly South Africa collection. This delicious Amarula treat is one of the most celebrated dessert drinks around the world. Dom Pedro is one of the most copied creations in South Africa's culinary history and is famous worldwide. Another famous copied creation is this classic melktert recipe.

If you are looking for an Amarula dessert with less of a kick, then please consider having a look at this Amarula Cheesecake recipe. It is another popular recipe from our local cullinery collections.

Dom Pedro is also known as the adult milkshake and there is no difference between a Dom Pedro and a Don Pedro. Dom means clergymen and Don means mister. Dom Pedro is traditionally made with Whiskey, but we decided to pay tribute to the heritage of the South African Amarula and use it instead of Whiskey. Amarula is a cream liqueur and it blends well with the ice cream, creating a delicious creamy surprise.

If you have a good Dom Pedro recipe please share it with us on this page and tell us everything about your recipe. You can also tag us on our Facebook page where we can share food and cooking ideas together.

Thank you and happily enjoy your Amarula Dom Pedro cocktail.

I am a celebrated cocktail bartender, otherwise also known as a mixologist. My inspiration came from the movie Cocktail, with Tom Cruise. I am also from Hoedspruit where Tom Cruise made his latest movie, and where Amarula grow in the wild. Just like him, I always blow my guests away with this Amarula Dom Pedro cocktail. This is a great recipe. 5.00

This is so tasty, We stayed over on an estate in the wild park and asked the chef if we can try this Amarula cocktail one evening. He was happy to oblige and we had it every evening during our stay in South Africa. It makes you sleep like a baby. Not sure why. Well done South Africa. See you next year. Cannot wait. 5.00
